Since 1978, the Frankfurter Rechtshilfekomitee für Ausländer e.V. (Frankfurt Legal Support Committee for Foreigners) has been providing free support and advice to people with a background of migration seeking advice in Frankfurt am Main and surrounding area on matters of asylum law, employment and social welfare law, on tenancy law problems, on issues of education legislation, in conflict situations, during their au-pair year, in cases of illegality and with practical help in dealing with the authorities.
In urgent individual cases the Frankfurt Legal Support Committee for Foreigner organises outpatient medical care for people without residency status or health insurance. In individual cases grants towards legal costs are sanctioned. In addition to providing legal advice, they also take part in public protests, demands and campaigns to support migrants and refugees’ justified concerns.
